So who can make my Roman Blind? As you may know, Roman blinds are technical window furnishings that require geometry, mathematics, and precision to get a good finish. The sign of a well-made and hung Roman Blind is the way it hangs effortlessly straight up and down without any signs of twisting or straining.
Things to look for in the finished blind.
The Roman Blind needs to be attached perfectly onto a system. The operating cords must be evenly spaced and of equal lengths. If not the whole blind will pull up skewed.
Corners need to be square and straight, the rows of stitching on the blind need to be parallel and have even stitches.
Patterns should be centralized on the face of single blinds. If there is a strong pictorial element to your fabric you may need to be a bit more flexible with this. In the case of a bay window or a set of blinds that are being fitted side by side, a follow round pattern placement could be preferred. Your Blind maker will be able to help you with these decisions.

Health and Safety.
Most good curtain makers can make Roman blinds, but not all curtain makers know or understand the health and safety laws that affect the fitting and finishing. The following link will take you to information that will help you to understand them.
There have been cases of deaths caused by strangulation in cords on blinds and ignorance on the maker’s part is not seen as a defence.
The consumer has an obligation along with the fitter and maker to adhere to these safety rules. They are in place to keep you, your children, and your pets as safe as possible.
This means that it should be a skilled maker that makes your Roman blinds for you. He or she will be the best person to advise you on all of the important decisions that will allow you to safely enjoy your roman blinds.
