Autumn feels like it’s creeping closer! Naturally, our thoughts turn to creating cosy atmospheres in our homes to gather and relax in.

Time to put your feet up

Footstools are incredibly useful for big family gatherings and small cosy coffee catch-ups. This versatile piece of furniture is great for when you need to kick back and put up those tired feet after a hard day, or being used to extend your available seating. Kids love to lounge on them too – perfect for Christmas get-togethers (Shh! We didn’t say Christmas).

Get autumn ready

Another way of creating a cosy warm atmosphere this autumn and prevent heat loss can be to hang curtains over external doorways. Door curtains can be a feature in their own right and be a stylish way to dress an entrance.

Door curtains are often single rather than pairs, are opened to one side of the doorway, and kiss the floor to block those nasty icy draughts.

A stylish way to protect your interior from the sun and keep your home cool.

This curtain was fitted earlier this month and is a wide pinstripe linen from Designers Guild which has been interlined to help keep the heat in and the cold out. See our Instagram or Facebook for more on this and other projects.

Berger Suite brought up to date

We love giving your comfortable treasured pieces of furniture a refresh and new lease of life. The following project simply involved new upholstery. The cane furniture was structurally sound but the fabric was worn and tired.

Old and new upholstery fabric

Old covers were tired and needed updating.

Our clients wanted a modern fresh fabric that would stand the test of time. We searched through our fabric books and the client decided on a gorgeous plaid weave Topiary from Prestigious Textiles as shown below.

For the sofa, they wanted a statement fabric that would work with the plaid. They chose the beautiful Atrium fabric from Iliv, a great choice I’m sure you’ll agree we love the pop of orange

Re-upholstery is a great option for sentimental pieces of furniture or if you are having trouble replacing the furniture that already works in your space. It also allows you to change your interior style and update your décor, everyone likes to do this from time to time.

Another reason re-upholstery is good in our eyes is it prevents unnecessary landfill therefore it ticks the three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle.  Find out more about this project by visiting our Facebook and Instagram pages

Re-upholstery is a win-win in more ways than one. Are you considering re-upholstery for any of your furniture? Then we’d love to help you work out whether this is the best way forward, click below for advice.

Slim blinds that sit neatly within your window frame allowing doors and windows to be opened independently.

A great feature of these blinds is the option to adjust them from both the top and bottom. This is very useful for controlling light on these autumnal evenings when you want as much evening light as possible without being blinded by a low sunset. Simply move the blind into position to obscure the bright sun as shown below.
