Quick Tips To Get Christmas Ready!
Bring the magic home this Christmas with a dash of festive colour and luxuriously warming touches. Whether entertaining with champagne and nibbles or relaxing after too many mince pies, make your home a place of elegant joy.
The velvet touch
Velvet soft furnishings are our favourite cosy fabric that will add a splash of luxury and warmth this December. Cushions or throws in green, red, gold or cream will make any seat in the house festively welcoming. Velvet can even help dress your festive table ready for the family feast! Look at how House Of Hackey dressed the tables for the Tessa Jowell Foundation charity dinner further down this email.

A festive glow
Adding lighting accessories at this time of year is the perfect way to keep the cold and dark outside of your home. You can use it to bring a touch of Yuletide sparkle.
Lampshades will also provide soft lighting that produces a soft cosy atmosphere, perfect for this time of year. Lampshades are also great for utilising any leftover fabric from a curtain or blind project, talk to us if you would like to use your remnant fabric this way.

Our energy-saving solution for winter.
Our top tip for keeping warmth in and icy draughts out is thermal-lined door curtains that kiss the floor. Door curtains can have a heat-reflecting lining to prevent heat from escaping and the cold from entering during these long winter nights.
Another benefit of this beautiful draping lining is it will reduce the bulk of the curtain stack back, allowing the curtain to be pulled back from the door to maximise your doorway space. The final bonus is they look much better than bulky, old-fashioned draught excluders.

Are you making sustainable choices?
We can all do our part and make a difference to our environmental impact by living sustainably, even when it comes to updating our soft furnishings.
Part of our mission statement is to source and expand more of our partners that want to supply fabrics and materials in a more sustainable way. Our advice? Take time to choose. Don’t fall for quick trends that inevitably lead to waste. Instead, look for durable and sustainable
We’re taking a seat at Langdon Court.
As you may know, we’ve been working as part of the team commissioned to restore this stunning 16th-century grade II-listed Jacobean Manor.
November saw phase two take shape as we hung the dress curtains in the morning room, and 14 soft blind drapes were made and fitted to frame the windows gorgeously. And there was no sitting around!
We also crafted the elegant slim window loveseats. Our next job is to fit three automated blinds before Christmas. Remote control-operated blinds are perfect for hard-to-reach areas and long windows. They are beautiful and practical while eliminating the need for long chords and chains.

Our chosen charity for November
This month, we are delighted to support the Tessa Jowell Foundation. The charity’s vision is to bring a new era of innovation and excellence in brain cancer treatment, care and research.
Last week they held a fabulous charity dinner, ‘A Night to Remember’, at Southwark Cathedral in London. We were asked to make 50 metres of table runners and napkins from luxury House of Hackney fabric for the event. As you can see, the House of Hackney did the Tessa Jowell foundation justice and the end result of the dressed tables is joyous. Certainly ‘A Night to Remember!
Just a quick update on how the Ist Elburton Brownies and Guides did with their fundraising for Children In Need – they raised £239 plus gift aid. On behalf of our Office Manager/Girl Guide leader Franqui – Thank you to everyone who donated.
